Hypoxia therapy for athletes

Hypoxia therapy for athletes

Hypoxia therapy, also known as altitude training, is a commonly used technique among athletes who want to take their performance to the next level. At Altitude Spaces we offer solutions such as altitude chambers and altitude tents that support this method, helping your body perform better and recover faster, even at sea level.

Live high, train low: the ideal training method

The most effective form of hypoxic training for athletes is the live high, train low method. You sleep for 3 to 4 weeks in a simulated altitude environment, such as an altitude tent or altitude room, between 2000 and 2500 meters altitude. In the meantime, you continue training at sea level.

Altitude tents and altitude rooms

At Altitude Spaces we offer an extensive range of altitude tents and altitude chambers with which you can optimize your hypoxia therapy. Our products are designed for athletes who want to improve their condition and performance. Whether you are an athlete preparing for a competition or simply want to improve your endurance, we have the right solution for you.

How does hypoxia therapy work for athletes?

When you sleep in a hypoxic environment such as an altitude chamber, your body responds to the low oxygen levels by producing the hormone erythropoietin (EPO). This stimulates the production of extra red blood cells, which are responsible for better oxygen transport to your muscles, tissues and cells. This results in:

  • Improved sports performance at sea level.
  • Faster recovery after exercise.
  • Better oxygen absorption capacity, so your body can continue to perform at higher altitudes.
