Hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber (HBOT) is used for the recovery of injuries in both top and amateur athletes. With hyperbaric oxygen therapy, your body receives a lot more oxygen than usual, which promotes recovery.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy not only accelerates the recovery of athletes, but also the healing of minor wounds, injuries and fractures by 35% to as much as 70%. An increase in oxygen in the blood transport to the tissues and cells promotes pain relief and recovery. A hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber is widely used in sports to help reduce swelling, facilitate healing and reduce fatigue.
How does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work? Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, called hyperbaric oxygen therapy, HBOT, is the practice of breathing up to 93% – 95% oxygen in a pressurised cabin where the pressure is higher than the ambient pressure, between 1.3 – 1.5 ATA. Because the blood in the lungs comes into contact with increased oxygen under pressure, much more oxygen dissolves in the blood plasma. As a result, much more oxygen is delivered through the blood plasma to the injured, less vascularised parts of your body. With that extra oxygen, the tissues and cells recover and new stem cells and collagen are produced. Applying hyperbaric oxygen therapy on a regular basis also strengthens your immune system and the healing power of your body. It also improves mental functioning, concentration and stress management. Many international and professional sports clubs already have their own hyperbaric oxygen cabins.
